DESCRIPTION
As 1 of 3 universities worldwide, Howest was selected by Volkswagen to think about tomorrow’s car. Howest created ‘The Collective’ which represents the multidisciplinary project and team. I was lucky to be a part of this team as a last year 3D & VFX student (alumni DAE, class of 2018-2019).
As a multidisciplinary team, we worked on this project for Volkswagen about the mobility of the future. In Wolfsburg, we presented along other selected colleges (with a different background) our findings to the VW Design Team. The Collective consisted of 12 student: 4 people of DAE (Digital Arts and Entertainment), 4 people of Devine (Digital Design Development) and 4 people of IPO (Industrial Product Design).
During this project, we went to Supernova in Antwerp and the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven to gather inspiration and expand our network. Finally, while we were in Wolfsburg for the final presentation we also got a guided tour by the VW Design Team in Autostadt.
The Collective Team: Lennert Vloeberghs (Devine), Thibeau Scarceriaux (IPO), Nena Penel (Devine), Tobi Hallez (IPO), Arabella Huys (IPO), Guillaume De Jonghe (IPO), Jonas Mangelschots (DAE Game Dev), Erlynn Lebrocquy (DAE Indie Game Dev), Arthur Peck (Devine), Sara Obert (DAE Game Graphics), Steffie Hermans (Devine), Matts Verkest (DAE VFX Production)
